Abu Jundal demands transfer from Anda cell to normal prison

On Friday police has told that the suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba operative, Zabiuddin Ansari alias Abu Jundal who is an alleged mastermind of 26/11 is not eating anything and gone on hunger strike in the Arthur road jail. He is demanding to be shifted from and a cell to a normal prison. He is a hard-core criminal who has been involved in training terrorist.

Jundal has been jailed for allegedly being the mastermind of the several bomb blasts across the country He has gone on hunger strike since Thursday. Deputy Commissioner of police, Dhanjay Kulkarni has told that the decision to change an inmate’s cell is solely taken by th jail authorities.
According to him senior officials of jail takes decision in such matters after discussing with higher authorities. Anda cell is a small high security cell used for keeping hard-core criminals in isolation.
Jundal is a native of Beed in Maharashtra and was caught in 2012 after he was deported from Saudi Arabia.

The NIA had filed a charge-sheet for Jundal in which he has been alleged of conspiring to carry out terror activities in India which includes the 26/11 attacks and Aurangabad arms haul case. In Maharashtra only he was accused of being involved in Aurangabad arms haul, 2010 German Bakery blast in ne attack on Nashik police academy conspiracy.

According to the charges filed against him in May 2006 Jundal fled to Bangladesh where he met an ISI agent. Then after that he used a boarding pass issued in a fictitious name to board a PIA flight to Pakistan.

Jundal used to train the terrorist in Pakistan by teaching them Hindi and he also trained the 26/11 attackers, according to the police. In November 2008 Mumbai terror attacks 166 people were killed and many more were injured.
