Magenta Line will be fully operational from 29th May

The magenta line of Delhi metro will now fully functional on 29th May'18.  Now you can travel from Noida to Gurugram in just 50 minutes.

South Delhi will now be connected well to Noida, Gurugram. The full magenta line stretch is from Botanical Garden to Janakpuri west with an interexchange station at Hauz Khas so, if you want to get to Noida or Gurgaon then you can change metros at Hauz Khas metro station. Whereas, Dwarka is also now well connected to South Delhi and Noida.

The magenta route which will be fully operational from 29th May will have following metro stations. For the first time, the domestic airport terminal is connected through a metro line with a dedicated metro station.
The total stretch of magenta line is 25.6 km which makes it the longest Delhi metro stretch with 23 km underground stretch and 2.5 km above the ground.

PM Narendra Modi to inaugurate Magenta metro line on 25th Dec 2017
DMRC will open up the magenta line which will connect the South Delhi to Noida and reduce the travel time on 25th December. Now people can directly go to Noida Botanical Garden from Kalkajii Mandir metro station.
According to the sources the line is ready and only final nod is been awaited from the prime minister’s office and if sources are to be believed then prime minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate this new line on 25th December.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the metro on magenta line from Botanical Garden Metro station 12.64 km stretch to the public.
The commuting time from South Delhi to Noida will be cut and it will take about 45 minutes to reach Noida which is not possible in any other way as there is so much traffic jams on the road.
The frequency of metro trains on this line would be reduced to 90 seconds which earlier was about 120 seconds.
DMRC official said “The Botanical Garden metro station will become the first interchange station outside Delhi. The Kalkaji Mandir station has also been developed as an interchange station and this will help reduce travel time between the Blue and Violet Lines significantly.”
This section is 38.23-km Botanical Garden-Janakpuri West corridor. Eight of the nine stations that will be opened next week are elevated.
Stations which are on MAZENTA LINE are: Botanical Garden, Okhla Bird Sanctuary, Kalindi Kunj, Jasola Vihar-Shaheen Bagh, Okhla Vihar, Jamia Millia Islamia, Sukhdev Vihar, Okhla NSIC and Kalkaji Mandir.
Amity University and Jamia Millia Islamia are also connected on this route.


The Hauz Khas metro station has proved to be very beneficial in reducing the load at the Rajeev Chowk as people who want to go directly to Botanical garden or Janakpuri can use this the Magenta line without going to the Rajeev Chowk and the time of traveling is also reduced.
