On Monday Prime Minister
Narendra Modi made it clear that the BJP Government will not scrap the dalit
quota and rest the fears dalit people were having.
He said that when Atal
Bihari Vajpayee became the prime minister of India some people started saying
that quota will be scrapped but nothing of that sort happened. Narendra was
giving his speech while attending the function in which foundation stone of a state
of the art memorial for doctor BR Ambedkar was being done in New Delhi.
Narendra Modi is of the
opinion that quota for dalits, tribals and marginalized communities is their
inalienable right and nothing as ever happened to the reservations of dalits, tirbals
where BJP is in power still some people are spreading rumors to mislead the
people as this is a right which nobody can snatch.
He further praised DR. BR
Ambedkar and said that he is a World leader just like Martin Luther king. BR
Ambedkar is not just messiah for dalits but for other too and it will be great
injustice if call him messiah for dalits only because raised his voice for all
injustice. He should be seen as Vishwa Manav.
Modi also said that "We
should not limit him to our borders. The way the world sees Martin Luther King,
Baba Saheb should be seen like that. He was the voice of the downtrodden.
"
We all know that Ambedkar
was a great leader and thinker as he thought about the poor people and also for
the middle class people for their development. He very well thought about the
India's maritime resources and power sectors along with many other things.
He always wanted people to
be educated and gave inner power to people by compelling people to be
knowledgeable.
Modi also talked about
Ambedkar's thought for empowering women and providing equal rights to women
because he was clear that if women will not have equal rights then he cannot be
a part of the ministry.
I think Narender Modi has taken a right decision for letting us know that his Government is not thinking or planning to remove reservation for Dalits and SC as it will greatly help them to secure a position in the next elections in Uttat Pradesh. This piece of information provided by Modi would also be beneficial for BJP in other States.
But the question remains the same whether Reservation should be there for any caste or tribes as i feel that after the Independence BR Ambedkar asked for reservation for a time period only and should not be continued any further because at the end whosoever is capable of performing will earn according to it and basic education should be given to the people and rest should be left on their ability to perform.
