People who sleep a late night are found to be more intelligent as compared to those who go to bed early
The above statement is true according to some research. The research has also suggested that this fact has nothing to do with heritability but it has more to do with an individual’s choices.
Late sleepers are also found to be creative according to a study which was done by the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan in which 120 people participated and filled the self- supported questionnaire.
In the questionnaire, they were asked about whether they were a morning or evening person. Then after that, the groups were divided according to their answers then the subjects were asked to draw pictures based on the images shown to them and after that, they were told to complete incomplete shapes and give them a title.
At the end of the final test, the participants were given a piece of paper with 30 pairs of lines and told to create and title another picture.
For judging each picture was checked on flexibility, originality, fluidity, and elaboration and the results were amazing which showed that those who identified as night owls scored significantly higher than the people who are early risers.
So the people who sleep late are found to be doing their best work at night and often they are more creative after the sunsets. Obviously, at this point, scientists are clueless that what is the reason and they again tried to go back to see the bucking trends and the late sleepers showed a non - conventional spirit and the ability to find alternative and original solutions.
As we all know the early risers follow a sleeping pattern that sees them awake in the morning and asleep early in night whereas the early sleepers start feeling tired in the mid-afternoon because their day starts early in the morning so a good part of the day is mostly not used with more energy.
Another study done at the University of Liege worked at the contrasts in brain activities between the late sleepers and early sleepers and found that both groups had similar levels of productivity upon waking but after 10 hours, the early risers had shown significant lower brain activity and decreased attention span as compared to the people who are night owls.
So the above study shows that the early risers are technically awake for more hours of the day but are less productive than the night owls and this fact makes the night owls smarter just because they are able to take full use of their sleeping cycle and this helps them to do more with their day.
As a whole, the late sleepers are found to be more relaxed as compared to the early sleepers. Again another study was done by scientists in Westminster which tested the saliva of 42 men and women participants of the study. The goal of this study was to find out the level of cortisol in the body which is also called as the stress hormone. Again the results suggested that the people who woke up early in the morning had far higher levels of stress hormone as compared to the night owls.
It is up to you whether you want to be a night owl or early sleeper as it is also generally seen that people who sleep late also enjoy their life more and have more pleasure as compared to the early sleepers.

But what does make late sleepers smarter?
