Food habits which increases anxiety

Sometimes there are situations which make you crazy and bit exhausted, so here are some tips for avoiding them. These points include changes in your food habits which can increase anxiety and make things worse. By simply following the points you will be on the right track to be more relaxed and calmer

Changes in some food habits will make you relaxed and calm

Stay away from coffee

We all know that coffee immediately boosts the energy level in us because it has caffeine. However, it also suppresses serotonin which is an important hormone in keeping you calm and relaxed. You're usually drinking coffee in afternoon or evening when you feel quite down with energy and want to boost your energy or keep you awake which means that more trips to the bathroom so drinking no or less coffee helps you to save time and be positive in your life.

Try not to be fond of sugar

We can get sugar from milk and fruit so why to go for more options as the sugar is present everywhere and the human body needs the glucose fuel. When we take the sugar it increases the stress hormone cortisol and then it starts becoming the leading actor.

Go slow on Alcohol

By drinking alcohol we feel more relaxed and our mood is elevated but the bad news is that the good mood loss of inhibitions and new found confidence are part of a passing phase in the short term but if you take in a long-term then it has been found that alcohol block off the serotonin in the brain which helps in regulating your mood and prevent you from getting anxiousness.

Do not get addicted to sweet desserts and processed foods

A study was done in which it was found that people addicted to this sort of diet had a 58% higher chances of depression. so next time when you feel depressed do not go binging for processed and sweet dairy products instead indulge yourself in some other activity or doing exercise is a good option. Another reason to stay away from processed food is that there are chemicals in them which gives your blood sugar level a problem so what I would suggest you is that go easy on eating these sugary foods and go for whole foods like fish, fruits and green leafy vegetables next time.

Refined grains are no better

Most of the refined bread and other white food products contain preservatives along with sugar and some unhealthy fats too so, all natural vitamins and minerals which you think they are present are actually stripped put from them.

Start taking less salt in your diet

Try to cut the salt intake in your foods because it increases the pressure on you especially if you are already fighting with an anxiety problem. so next time if you are having a salty snack then remember you are doing the exact opposite of reducing the anxiety because these snacks release more adrenaline in your body and the tension increases.

Never skip your breakfast or other meals

Skipping breakfast should not be done especially if your behaviour has already started changing. In fact, not just breakfast try not to skip your lunch and dinner also because when you any of them then the next thing is anxiety in front of you. So do not skip your meals to maintain your sugar levels. Also, try to take more protein in your diet instead of more carbs at breakfast.

There are a lot of food options which may help you to boost your mood and reduce anxiety and some of these foods are like almonds, oranges, chocolate, asparagus, whole grains, oatmeal, salmon, etc.
