Women jailed for 7 years for insulting royal Thai Dog

A strange case has happened in Thailand where a woman was arrested and sent to prison for 7 years just because she posted something about a Royal dog of the Thai King.

She was arrested by the military on Tuesday because they feel that she has insulted the monarchy by posting material on the Internet.

And not just her Thai military also arrested another person for liking her material against the dog on Facebook under the charges of lese majeste.

The dog is called as Tongdaeng which was a street dog and adopted by the king about 7 years back and very soon the dog became King’s companion for his parable behaviour. The King also wrote one book about himself in which he has mentioned that he expects from his countryman to behave just like the dog.

Last year the military seized the powers and after that safeguarding the monarchy was one of its priorities. They started targeted those people who were sympathetic to the red shirt movement which supported the ousted civilian government and also opposed the coup.
