Prime
Minister Narendra Modi has announced a package of Rs 1.25 lakh crore for Bihar
where elections are due. He said that this package will change the fate of
Bihar on Tuesday.
He was
addressing a rally where he made this announcement regarding the package. He
further added that he promise to the people that he will implement this package
fully if they want to solve people’s problems then the only way ahead is
development.
He would
also give additional Rs4000 crore which will be spent on the State along with
the Rs1.25 lakh crore packages.
He also
poked Nitish Kumar and asked his stand on the status of the status. He said
that he had called Bihar a bemaru state and Nitish became upset from this
comment and he agrees with Nitish Kumat that Bihar is not a Bimaru state and he
would be happiest if the Bihar stops being called as one of the Bimaru state.
Modi had
already addressed two rallies in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur and Gaya ahead of the
Bihar elections assembly polls and also inaugurated projects involving and
investment of Rs6200 crores in the State.
He laid
foundation stone of a 4 lane connecting Patna and Buxar in Arrah about 60
Kilometers from Patna before he addressed BJP’s rally in Saharsa district. The project
was pending for a long time and it is considered as one of the key projects of the
State having cot of around Rs 2200 crore.
People of
Bihar had high expectations from the Prime Minister Naarendra Modi and were
expecting that he will announce a special package for Bihar.
According
to the sources the project modalities have already been worked upon and it
could go beyond Rs 1 lakh crore and kit will include several new and pending
projects for roads, railways, and power, besides the software technology and
food parks.
In July
Modi told that Patna will get economic package he had and the centre will sanction
this project and that time he said that he will make the announcement at an
appropriate time.
He said
that Before the Lok Sabha elections he promised Rs5000 crore for Bihar if his
party gets elected and he will fulfil his promise and announce the package at
the right time. He also said that the amount of the package may also go beyond
Rs50000 and now he has realised that Rs50000 crore will not help Bihar of his
dream.
He promised
to come back after monsoon session and now he has made this announcement,
The Chief
Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar had been asking for a special package from the
centre and a special category status for the Status and also said that nothing
less than this will help it develop, remained sceptical saying that he had
heard nothing new about the package so far and will be waiting for the details
before saying anything about it.
In Patna
Nitish Kumar told media that first of all it is a clear cut violation of
cooperative federalism that the state government has been kept in the dark,
while the Bhatiya Janta Party is making statement about PM’special package for
the State. But, whatever he has heard so far there seems nothing new in the
proposed special package. And he is waiting to see whether the special package
will have new projects or merely repackaging of the old packages.
