New urban
center: The Delhi Government is about to watch the anti-social components at
the night by patrolling to form certain that the lady within the capital square
measure safe. According to the sources this move is aimed at making city safer
for woman.
The Delhi
Police does not comes under jurisdiction of Delhi Government and the women
safety was a major issue of Aam Admi Party during the Assembly elections and it
was promised by the AAP several times to improve the security in the City.
The Delhi
Government has been fighting with the Central Government over the issue of
jurisdiction on police force in Delhi. And Arvind Kejriwal has been demanding
from the Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung that the Government should be consulted in
the transfer and posting of senior officers.
Recently
the Government has also decided to empower the Sb Divisional Magistrates who
now will be able to carry out surprise checks inside the buses and will also
have a power to book those found harassing women passengers.
According
to the Senior Government officials about 100 Government magistrates will be
patrolling the areas in the night and currently they are preparing the roster.
By the presence of the magistrates on the road will also ensure that the police
will become more alert and will do its job more efficiently.
It is
taken as a strong message to the people and assures them that the public spaces
are safe for them. A district magistrate can issue arrest warrant if he or she
finds anyone harassing a women and the police will have to take the action
against the accused.
The
Government may issue the formal order soon as this issue has already been
discussed at a meeting. The areas where the crime rate is high are being mapped
and the magistrates will be asked to visit those areas at night in their
vehicles.
