Old Shipping laws will be changed in India. Nitin Gadkari who is a Union Transport Minister said in the meeting organized by the Madras Chamber of Commerce and Industry that all laws are old and should be thrown out. He told that we too backward in the Shipping and need all kind of infrastructure. Motorcycle Act 1988 is too old and need to be changed and the government is thinking about it seriously and will doing the necessary changes soon.

He also said that there is no need of regional transport office (RTO) as there is corruption of crores of rupees in the departments which should be curbed there should be transparency in the system and government has already started the work.  Most of the things will done through online system and if somebody violates the rules his license will immediately cancelled and further checks will also be done that whether he has violated any rules earlier also.

It was also informed in the meet that Narendra Modi has decided to make 9 joint ventures for building ships and looking for partners from outside and inside of India, In fact one company has already approached them for the joint venture. Similarly government also wants to finalize the joint venture for breaking of ships.

Government is also eager to clear the defense project which were pending for long and have made a project management consultancy which would be responsible to clear nearly 500 pending projects.
