Delhi High Court slams Municipal Corporations for wasting public money

Delhi High Court slams Municipal Corporations for wasting public money and said that they should remove the 60,000 safai karamcharis if they are not able to do their jobs, As they are nearly invisible in the areas assigned to them for cleaning.

A petition was file by the NGO Nyay Bhoomi on the condition of poor state of public toilets, infrastructure and condition in institutions.

MCD tried to assure the court that biometric systems have been installed for tchecking the attendance of the safai karamcharis on that High Court asked that are how they monitoring the work done by them and do they have any mechanism to check the cleaning  work done, as they assigned municipal areas still look unclean and they should check the private organizations where employees keeps cleaning are are totally different.

Court asked the three corporations that if the safai karamcharis are not working they should be removed and money of the public should not be wasted on them. Also they should focus on the work assigned to them instead of involving on politics.

Court also asked the Director of DEPC to be present on 8th December and give report about theprovide report on how much has been done along with the area covered by them. It was also advised by the court that the MCD magistrate should check the area which is assigned to the employees.
