On Friday the accused
Bhartiya Janta Party MLA was arrested by the Uttrakhand police for breaking leg
of police horse named shaktimaan. The horse underwent an operation to replace
the damaged leg with temporary prosthetic one.
This incident happened in
Mussorie where MLA Ganesh Joshi suddenly became furious and angry during a
protest rally and attacked the police horse. The video of this incidence became
viral on social media and news channels in which it can clearly be seen that
how Ganesh was attacking the horse with stick and kept on attacking until the
horse fell down and in the end of the video it was seen that the police officer
was trying to get the horse stand again on its feet. The Uttrakhand police did
not arrest him till Monday and instead picked some other person despite the
nationwide condemnation of the horrible incident.
So far the Bhartiya Janta
Party was also defending its MLA who denied the charges.
According to senior
superintendent of police the team of veterinarians amputated the horse's
damaged leg fears of spreading gangrene and after few days a permanent
prosthetic leg will be fixed and according to the doctors the horse wil be able
to live his life normally after that.
On Tuesday a steel structure
was fixed on the fractured limb during the surgery that lasted for 5 hours but
they later decided to amputate the leg after failing to restore blood supply to
the limb.
The police have been getting
adoption offers from many people but horse will remain in the force. So far the
police have arrested two people in connection to the case but still have to act
against the MLA Joshi.
Animal activist Maneka Gandh
has also asked the party to expel he MLA whereas the BJP is saying that
opposition parties are trying to put the BJP in bad name and urged to the Chief
Minister of Uttrakhand to intervene and stop the investigation against Joshi
but the Chief Minister has denied to intervene and told that he will not
intervene the police investigation.
