He has been identified as Hasnain Varekar who invited his parents, sisters and others at dinner and slit their throats with a butcher knife after they slept around 2am in the morning.
A 22 year old Subiya is the only person who survived in this murder scene, she is the sister of the Varekar. She woke up in the night after hearing a sound when Varker was killing her sister who was sleeping jut next to her.
It has been revealed in the investigations that there was a scuffle between Hasnain Varekar and Subiya and he killed all people present in the house and hanged himself.
Subiya also had cuts on her cheeks and chin but she bravely managed to fought back by pushing her brother out of the room and locked herself inside.
After that one of the neighbor, Saleem Patel heard Subiya's voice and rushed to the house to help her. She was pulled out of the window and was immediately taken to the hospital. Later when police reached the house and opened the door they saw bodies lying in a pool of blood and Hasnain was hanging.
At this time police team is waiting for a detailed statement from Subiya but she is in a state of shock and will give her statment later.
Meanwhile the police team is also checking out if Varekar had mixed any poisonous material or sleeping pills in the food they had at the dinner before killing the or may be he had mixed something in drinks.
Hasnain used to working in a chartered accountancy firm based in Navi Mumbai but he used to live in a village called Kasarvadavli in Thane. He had 2 daughters who were just 6 months and 3 months old whom he killed.
The exact reason for these murders is still not clear to the police but they are investigating the matter from the angle of family dispute.
