A top Jail Official said that the Formalities for the
release of AIADMK General Secretary Jayalaithaa would be completed by today
evening, after she has been granted bail by the Supreme Court in the
Disproportionate Assets Case. The formalities for the release of jayalaithaa
from the Parapanna Agrahara Prison will be completed by evening. The process
for release has been set in motion amidst tight security in and around the
prison premises.
DIG Prison P M Jaisimha said, as the news broke from the
apex court granting relief to Ms Jayalaithaa, AIADMK supporters erupted in
celebrations and danced in joy hailing their leader. Police have tightened the
security with additional Police force in and around the jail complex ever since
jayalaithaa was lodged in the prison from September 27 after she was convicted
by the Special Court. Atleast 1km from the jail is blocked due to security
reasons till the entry point of the road in order to avoid any incident.
Earlier, the Supreme Court granted bail to the Former Chief
Minister Ms. Jayalalithaa after a Bench Headed by Chief Justice H L Dattu
stayed the sentence and warned Ms Jayalalithaa against causing delay by seeking
adjournment in her appeal in Karnataka High Court.
Police tightened up the Security force in and around Hosur
Road on Karnataka- Tamil Nadu Border for about 20 km from the prison complex to
prevent any unwanted incident. AIADMK supporters have camped in the area in
Various Lodges and Resorts expecting any time release of their Leader.
Considering all that, more force has been utilized.
Above all, the formalities of Jayalalithaa’s release will be
hopefully completed by today evening.
