Narendra Modi to meet Apple CEO, Tim Cook
and Google top officials in US
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi
is expected to meet Apple CEO in San Francisco and it is also being believed
that Apple may start its manufacturing in India as it is also looking to invest
in developing countries like India. If this happens then it will further boost
the make in India campaign.
Some big brand auto companies are
already here and even tech companies are also positive about investing in India
which is a positive move for Indians as it will definitely bring the country on
next level by generating employment and recognition of Indian workforce in the
World.
In India only the sales of
i-phone grew by 93% in the third quarter which is obviously greater than the
growth in China market. Currently Apple used facilities of Foxconn which operates
from Maharashtra and it is also expected that it will get investment of $5
billion for manufacturing Apple products.
Apple CEO Tim Cook |
I think if Apple takes the
decision to start manufacturing in India it will obviously save their cost of
import and export of parts. The other option is that if Apple can refurbish its
products like Apple i-Phone, Apple Laptop, Apple i-pad, etc in India but currently refurbishing is not allowed in India’s
Industrial policy. Might be the law may change if such a big investment comes in
the Country.
Narendra Modi has done his
homework before leaving the country as he has already got a list of Companies
whom he wants to meet as he did last year.
FB CEO Mark Zuckerberg |
Modi would also be meeting owner
of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg on 27th September which was already
announced on his Facebook page and nearly 75000 people liked this status. He
would also be meeting Google people.
He has well understood the need of technology in today’s
World and going in a right direction so that India can be made digital India.
